
Natalia Negret Garrido
Natalia is a lawyer from Universidad de los Andes, where she also obtained a specialization in International Business Law, and holds a specialization in Public Law from Universidad Externado de Colombia. Additionally, she earned an LL.M. (Master of Laws) from Columbia Law School in New York, where she received the Parker School Certificate of Achievement in international law and was recognized as a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar for academic merit. During her time at Columbia, she was an active member of the Columbia International Arbitration Association.
Before joining Brigard Urrutia in 2024, Natalia worked as an associate at the law firms Mayer Brown and Akin Gump in New York, advising international clients—especially in the renewable energy sector and road infrastructure projects—on cross-border disputes and regulatory matters. She also worked at the Constitutional Court of Colombia, contributing to landmark cases regarding the constitutional review of bilateral investment treaties, exploitation of non-renewable natural resources, prior consultation, and individual freedoms.
As a member of the Arbitration team, she advises national and international companies in domestic and international arbitrations conducted under ICC rules and the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, in various areas of law, such as infrastructure disputes under different types of contracts, post-M&A disputes, and controversies related to the provision of public services. She also advises national and international clients on the implementation of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms and in domestic litigation. Natalia is a member of Young ICCA, Young ITA, and the Spanish Arbitration Club (CEIA).
