Experience

  • Advised a Colombian commercial bank, as lessor, on a COP 900 billion leasing financing for the development of a portfolio of solar projects in Colombia. This transaction constitutes the largest leasing financing in Colombia’s history.
  • Advised The Bank of Nova Scotia, Export Development Canada and Scotiabank Colpatria, as lenders, on the refinancing of the Caoba Inversiones S.A.S. investment platform, for an aggregate amount of approximately USD 420 million and COP 500 billion, including the negotiation of finance documents and related security package for transmission assets.
  • Advised Solarpack on the financing granted by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), IDB Invest and Bancolombia, for approximately USD 140 million and COP 650 billion, for the construction and operation of two solar power plants with a combined installed capacity of 180 MW.
  • Advised The Bank of Nova Scotia, as lender, on a USD 141 million credit facility for the construction, operation and maintenance of the Caoba energy transmission platform, including the negotiation of finance and security documentation.
  • Advised a French development bank, as lender, on a local currency financing (equivalent to approximately USD 100 million) granted to a portfolio of solar projects in Colombia.
  • Advised the lenders on the refinancing of the UPME STR 02-2019 transmission project, for an aggregate amount of approximately COP 770 billion, including the negotiation of finance documents and related security structure.
  • Advised Bancolombia, as lender, on the financing for the construction, operation and maintenance of the Sunnorte Solar Photovoltaic Plant (41 MWp).
  • Advised Banco de Bogotá and Banco Popular, as lenders, in the financing of the Doña Teresa Small Hydroelectric Power Plant.
