
American Airlines currently operates 18 daily flights between Colombia and the US. Its local legal representative acknowledges that the Colombian market is fundamental to the airline, with a total offer of more than 3,000 daily seats.
As part of their expansion plan in 2021, they changed a 172-seat aircraft to a 234-seat aircraft applicable to flights to and from Cali. They also inaugurated two daily flights from Barranquilla to Miami. Last month they started daily flights between Pereira and Miami. In addition, Cartagena added a second flight and Bogota, Cali and Medellin now have direct flights to New York.
Likewise, as part of the winter offers, American Airlines will strengthen its presence in Colombian Caribbean with the possible addition of one new route: Miami-San Andres Island. This process is currently being reviewed by the Colombian Aeronautical Authority.
