María Emilia Giraldo Ceballos
Maria Emilia is an Associate in the Customs & International Trade team, which she joined in December 2025. Her practice focuses on customs law, international trade, and transport regulation, with an emphasis on the maritime and aeronautical sectors. She advises domestic and international clients on cross-border operations, regulatory compliance, and Colombian market entry strategies, as well as representing them before the relevant administrative authorities.
She has participated in significant matters, including cases involving port operations at Buenaventura, and has advised domestic and international airlines on aeronautical matters before the competent authorities.
Prior to joining the firm, she completed a summer internship at Brigard & Urrutia, supporting matters in the Infrastructure, Corporate, and Telecommunications practices. She also worked at an international law firm focused on litigation and as a manager in the private sector, where she gained experience in corporate compliance and risk management.
During her academic training at Universidad Libre de Colombia, she was a member of legal research groups and participated in national and international legal competitions.
She holds a Law degree from Universidad Libre de Colombia, is a certified Conciliator, and is currently pursuing a Specialization in Commercial Law at the same institution.
