Colombia's work-at-home law approved.

This new law differentiates between work at home and teleworking as two different modalities. Home-based work, as approved by Congress, will be that which is performed on a temporary basis and "without modifying the nature of the employment contract or relationship".

The regulation defines that work at home may be applied "for up to three months or until the term agreed by the parties" and that workers will continue to enjoy the same rights and guarantees that govern their employment relationship, such as working hours, overtime, night work, and Sundays and holidays.

Likewise, it establishes the right to work disconnection, a guarantee for both private workers and public servants, that will be able to "enjoy their rest time, leaves, vacations, vacations, leaves in order to reconcile their personal, family and work life".

As for the employer, the initiative indicates, among others, that it "shall refrain from giving orders or other requirements to the worker outside the working day".
