Pedro Montaño Vélez

Attorney from Universidad del Rosario, with experience in the mining and Oil & Gas sector and a focus on regulatory and contractual matters. He joined Brigard Urrutia in March 2026 as an associate in the Mining, Oil & Gas team. Prior to joining the firm, he was part of Canacol Energy, where he was responsible for regulatory matters, contract structuring and negotiation, including negotiations with clients in complex downstream natural gas transactions, as well as corporate restructuring processes. He also served as an attorney at Fundación Probono Colombia, leading the development of projects and the delivery of legal services aimed at vulnerable communities.
