Mr. Michelsen advises leading domestic and foreign companies as well as private equity funds in complex corporate transactions as well as telecommunications, media and technology matters. Over the course of his distinguished career, he has consistently been recognized internationally as one of Colombia’s leading M&A practitioners. He has acted as lead counsel in many of Colombia’s largest and most complex corporate transactions. Among his most prominent transactions is the advice for SABMiller in the acquisition through a merger of Bavaria SA, the second largest brewer in South America for US$7.8 billion. | | | Moreover, Mr. Michelsen has played a key role in many of the most important recent M&A transactions and corporate finance deals in Colombia, such as acting for Álmacenes Éxito, the largest retail company in Colombia, in its US$700 million acquisition of controlling stake in Carulla- Vivero, Casino Guichard Perrachon in its US$327 million acquisition of a controlling stake in Álmacenes Éxito, and Almacenes Éxito’s in their GDR issuance in international markets, among others.
