| | | Brigard & Urrutia partner since 2009, with over 14 years of experience. Mr. Romero heads the tax, international tax and transfer pricing team as well as the Trust and Estates practice area. Before joining Brigard & Urrutia, Mr. Romero built a very diverse and unique professional experience that involves the public work at the Colombian National Tax and Customs Direction from 1998 to 2000, the tax compliance and local work at big audit firms like Andersen Legal and Ernst & Young from 2000 to 2008, and the international tax work experience at Ernst & Young LLC in New York at the Colombian tax desk in the ITS Latin American Business Center in 2005.
| | | Mr. Romero’s expertise involve advising and supporting international and Colombian companies with the tax planning in many of the most recent M&A and corporate finance deals and major investment projects in Colombia. He is also specially knowledgeable in the application of treaties to avoid double taxation and in the implementation of sophisticated international tax planning structures for ongoing business activities that include intangible protection and planning, cost sharing and service centers, business restructuring, debt push down, and definition of holding structures.
