| | | Partner of Brigard & Urrutia since 2006. With more than 19 years of experience, has been involved in numerous extraction sector projects, in the fields of both hydrocarbons and mining. He has advised foreign investors in these projects on matters such as representation before the state (including exploration and production contract applications to ANH and concession applications to Ingeominas), foreign investment, environmental matters, project structuring, dealing with the community, and other risks inherent in the industry. Since 2003 he has headed the Natural Resources and Environment practice area. Additionally, he is in charge of the immigration and due diligence practice group of Brigard & Urrutia.
| In the course of his career, Mr. Pérez has been a Board member of various Colombian companies, including Carulla Vivero S.A., Mercantil Colpatria S.A. and Formfit Rogers. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of the School of Mines and Petroleum Lawyers, and is a member of the Institute for Energy Law of the Center of American and International Law (Houston, TX) and the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators.
| | | Mr. Pérez graduated from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and was admitted to practise in Colombia in 1993. He studied a postgraduate course (LL.M) at New York University in 1997. Moreover, he has also taken hydrocarbon contracting courses in Houston, USA, which were run by the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation. He also worked as foreign lawyer for the firm Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison in 1997-1998.
