| | | Mr. Urrutia has been a partner at Brigard & Urrutia since 1981, with more than 30 years of experience. Actually he is member of Banking and Finance, Insurance, Aviation Law and Natural Resources Practices Groups. He advises leading local and foreign companies in a wide variety of cross-border business and commercial transactions, with specific focus on international financial transactions commercial, natural resources, litigation, arbitration and M&A. He recently represented: Credit Suisse in connection with a guaranteed USD 220 million loan to Tuscany; Ecopetrol in connection with two USD 900 million loan facilities for the renewal of the Barrancabermeja Refinery; advised the Inter-American Development Bank in connection with a USD 10 million loan to EPM.
According to the most recent edition of Chambers, Mr. Urrutia is highly regarded for his legal expertise in both the local and international markets. He has been consistently recognized as a leading practitioner by other leading publications such as PLC Which Lawyer, Who’s Who Legal Latin Lawyer in the areas of Banking Law, Financial Law, Corporate Law and Commercial Law.
Mr. Urrutia is undergraduate studies at Johns Hopkins University, from where he was transferred to Los Andes University. Graduated from there as Doctor of Law in 1974.
